GPO       Brian MacLean has taken the Candidate Pledge:

"I support ranked ballots at the municipal level so candidates will be encouraged to appeal to all voters, and be less inclined to harshly attack their opponents as they will want supporters of those other candidates as a second choice. Ranked ballots will encourage moderation in campaigning rhetoric and outreach to all sectors of a ward rather than simply to proven areas of support. (I do not support ranked ballots at the provincial or federal levels of government with established political parties, where it reinforces a winner-takes-all approach to governing by whichever party ranks first, often leaving silenced a majority of voters who did not vote for the first-place party, which means 100% of the power is given to a party with as little as 40% or less of the votes. Proportional government obliges at least some parties to work together to LISTEN to various points of view and various parts of the riding.)"

LPO        Noel Semple has taken the Candidate Pledge:

"Ranked ballots allow voters to better express their preferences. They can also encourage positive campaigning, and discourage negative campaigning insofar as candidates are incentivized to appeal to the supporters of other candidates. The Ontario Liberal Party is committed to allowing municipalities to adopt ranked ballots."

GPO       Thomas Yanuziello has taken the Candidate Pledge:

"For municipal elections, since there are no parties, it just make sense. For provincial and federal elections, we need proportional representation."

LPO        Lee Fairclough has taken the Candidate Pledge:

"I support municipalities having the right to choose whether or not they use ranked ballots for elections as part of the democratic process."

NDP       Farheen Alim has taken the Candidate Pledge:

"Cities and communities deserve a say in how they govern themselves and grow. Cities who feel a ranked ballot best reflects their local needs deserve to be able to have a ranked ballot. I’m proud of Andrea Horwath’s plan to bring in a Mixed Member Proportional voting system for Ontario, and to allow cities to choose ranked ballots."

GPO       Gabriel Blanc has taken the Candidate Pledge:

"I support giving residents of every municipality the right to choose how they elect their representatives. Etobicoke North MPP Doug Ford's decision to end ranked choice voting in municipal elections was anti-democratic and part of a pattern of actions that show his disdain for local democracy."
