LPO Melisse Willems has taken the Candidate Pledge:
"When our elections become divisive, people get frustrated and give up on voting. To address this trend, we’ll introduce ranked ballots for the next provincial election followed by an independent review – meaning parties and leaders compete for voters’ second choices in addition to their first choices. Ranked ballots will reward parties that find common ground and that speak to voters’ hopes, not their fears. We’ll broaden Elections Ontario’s mandate to help municipalities implement ranked ballots if they choose. We’ll also appoint a Citizens’ Assembly to review other potential changes to our elections, such as the voting age, voting on the weekend or expanded advanced voting."

GPO Sandy Crawley has taken the Candidate Pledge:
"For decades it has been clear that cities need more control over their planning, fiscal decisions and the design of their own governance."
LPO Ekaterini Dimakis has taken the Candidate Pledge:
"With the Ontario Liberal Party, we believe a voting system with ranked ballots as an option is critical in growing our political environment and process. I pledge to support the option to use a ranked ballot system as it discourages negative campaigning, which I have made clear will not be my approach in my campaign, and encourages honest voting over strategic voting. This system, most of all, helps young people like myself and other underrepresented groups to take the initiative to run without fear of vote-splitting, which embraces the diversity we have in Hamilton and can have in government."

"The relationship between municipalities and Queen’s Park has been broken. The last four years have been about Doug Ford, and the next four should be about you, and your community. Ford cut the power of cities and towns to use ranked ballots for municipal elections. The NDP would give municipalities the power to decide how they want to run their own elections."
