Torontonians headed to the polls to mark their ballots on October 24, 2022, and RaBIT wanted voters to know which candidates support using ranked ballots for Toronto’s elections.

While we can’t use them right now, we want Toronto City Council to be ready to implement ranked ballots for our elections as soon as it’s possible again, which means we need to elect leaders who will be ready to make this change happen.

We ask all candidates for mayor and city councillor to take the following pledge:

As a candidate in the 2022 Toronto municipal election, I pledge that, if elected, I will support and work to restore Toronto's ability to use ranked ballots. Once it is again possible, I pledge to vote in favour of Toronto using ranked ballots for its elections.

In total, 68 candidates for mayor and councillor took the pledge. To see which ones, please click on the links above for the community council in your area, and find your ward.
